PV@HACPAC - 3-10-19

PV was thrilled to make it debut at HACPAC on March 10, 2019. With a wonderful program of music with guest artists, PV celebrated our richly gifted state of New Jersey through musical views of its poetry, art, and patriotism and through music by New Jersey composers! Here are some photos from that afternoon!

PV @ USR - 12-2-18 "PV & Friends"

We were so happy to make music with our friends on our last concert. Here are photos from the evening - with Jill Collura, bassoon - Michelle Baker, French horn - Owen Davitt, oboe. Lovely time playing the Thuille “Sextet”! We were also very proud to premiere Benjamin Yarmolinsky’s “Pentagrams”, a set of 5 dances that we commissioned, our 81st new work! A lovely reception followed with yummy "Birthday" cake for the trio!

PV Receives 2018 Bergen County Award!

We are thrilled to announce that we have once again been selected to receive a grant from the Bergen County Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs to assist with the commissioning of new works in 2018. The funding for this grant comes from the State of New Jersey and is administered through the county. We are proud to say that we are celebrating our twelfth award - each year since 2006 the county has partnered with PV to help create new and varied works of music and bring them to the audiences in Bergen County.

In addition to the works we have been able to commission with the assistance of the county, we have also received other works, both as gifts and as third party commissions over the years. So this year's grant is very special because it will help to fund our 80th new work for Flute, Clarinet & Piano!  Please Join us as we mark this historic moment with "5 x 3" by New Jersey composer, tubist & composer, Mike Forbes!

SAVE THE DATE! April 7, 2018. Don't Miss it! (Tickets available at https://opus15.brownpapertickets.com)

Fred Messner (1926-2018)

PV mourns the loss of great friend and supporter, Fred Messner.  Fred was a talented musician, pianist and composer who was a dedicated patron of our organization, serving on the board for many years and as President of the Board for 3 years. He and Vye came to nearly every performance and hosted our fund raising "House Concerts" in their home several times over the years.  He wrote two pieces for the trio, "Eine Kleine Abendmusik" which we recorded on our third volume of new music, and "More or Less Merengue" in honor of our pianist's 60th Birthday! We are so glad that we were able to perform his pieces for him in a concert at the VA in December, we feel it was very meaningful to him.  Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends as they gather to say farewell to him this weekend.  Please take a moment to reflect with us on a life well lived and a legacy left with us.

12-10-17 - PV Holiday Gala @USR

We were so thankful that everyone was able to switch our concert from Saturday December 9th to the next evening at the Unitarian Society.  Due to the snow we had to make the change in order to keep everyone safe.  It was such a fun evening and we had a very nice crowd! Steve Perillo's new trio was a huge hit! And guest artist, Katy Wong charmed us all with her beautiful harp playing! Here are scenes from the evening - enjoy! And don't miss our next concert on January 18th at Montclair State University!
